EXOBEINGS
Visions of potential lifeforms from other worlds in solitary moments
The word 'alien' conjures images in our minds eye of sci-fi movies with beings trying to take over our bodies, eat us, exterminate us, dominate us etc., however given that the mass of all humans on this planet comprises about only 1% of all animal mass, my hunch is that most life forms beyond our planet are not intentionally hostile.
I coined the term 'exobeing' to describe animals (fauna) that are just content to be in their own environment doing their thing.
In this series my intent is to capture simple moments of exobeings being alone in various states of their humble existence and to present them with a sympathetic and non-judgmental viewpoint.

In New Zealand an hours drive from where I live are the Waitomo caves which are famous for their glow worms.
Inspired by these little worms I imagined an exobeing bird-like creature standing in absolute darkness and stillness using its bioluminescence to attract it's next meal.
Though this is my simplest image to date, I love the honesty of the moment captured.
